with three daughters, Janelle, Kris and Judy. Through the years, Don farmed with his brother Robert. He and Robert did custom corn shelling for 19 years. Donald retired from farming in 1988. On Wednesday morning, Don passed away unexpectedly at his home in rural Windom at the age of 84 years. Donald was an active member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee on several occasions. He also was a member of the Lakefield Legion Post 4, Lakefield VFW Post 4743, DAV Prairie Chapter 36 where he was past commander and a past member of the Windom VFW Post 3844. Don enjoyed playing cards with his friends, collecting watches, recycling aluminum cans and especially loved cats. Don is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Doris Anschutz of Windom; three daughters, Janelle (Joel) Mickelson of Windom; Kris Caviness of Windom; Judy (Andrew) Seyler of Windom; 9 grandchildren, Andrea and Beckyn Mickelson, Kelly and Shaina Caviness, Nathan Daly, Dylan, Megan, Anna and Tays Seyler; two great-grandchildren, Brenden Weiske and Ava Caviness; one brother and one sister, Robert (Willa) Anschutz of Heron Lake; Caroline (Ken) Bosshardt of Lakefield; and many nieces and nephews.
