Ray Elphic Jr.

Ray Elphic, Jr., 71, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the Sheffield Care Center in Sheffield, Iowa. He was born March 3, 1942, in Hampton, Iowa to Ray and Carol (McAfee) Elphic, Sr. Ray graduated from Hampton High School in 1960. He served his country in the United States Army. Ray was married June 7, 1971, Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Donna McNealy of Hampton, Iowa. He worked at Farmland Foods, Inc. for 24 years then he was employed with the Hampton-Dumont Schools as the transportation superintendent for 17 years. He was a member of the Hampton Lions Club, Hampton-Dumont Booster Club and First Christian Church in Hampton. Ray enjoyed car racing, working on cars and classic car shows. He is survived by his wife Donna of Hampton, daughter Carolyn Hudman of Frankfort, Kentucky, daughter Melody and husband Jason Fort of Phoenix, Arizona, son Jonathan Elphic of Hampton, granddaughters Paige Hudman, Samantha Fort and Hayden Fort, grandson Trenton Elphic, brother Wilbert Elphic of Hastings, Colorado, sister Luberta Weese of Hinesville, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tammie. Burial will take place at the Hampton Cemetery.[more]
