JORGE FOURNEAU MUSCATINE, Iowa - Jorge Fourneau, 72, of Muscatine, died on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013, at St. Mathias Church, 215 West Second Street. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of his wife, Eva Fourneau. Jorge was born on November 15, 1941, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, the son of Jorge and Dora Rodriguez Fourneau. He married Eva Ramon on December 31, 1966, in Eagle Pass, Texas. He worked for Bandag and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish. He had a passion for reading and music. He loved to travel and also loved to cook on the grill for family get-togethers. While in his 20's he traveled to California and the Pacific Northwest. While in Texas, he worked as an extra on the John Wayne movie "The Alamo". Missy, and Juan Fourneau and wife, Tia, all of Muscatine; one daughter, Isabel Mireles and husband, Heriberto, of Muscatine; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Dora Elia Bass of Midland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved grandson, Rogelio Mireles.
