GOMEZ, MICHAELINA (LEE) of Davie died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 19, 2013 after battling congestive heart failure. Michaelina was born in Aveleno, Italy and came to the United States with her family when she was five years old. She grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey and met her husband Ralph there also. They married in 1949 and came to Miami on their honeymoon where her husband was working for Pan-Am airlines and settled in a small house by Miami International Airport and raised six children for forty years. She was a faithful parishioner of Saint Michael the Arc Angel Catholic Church while living in Miami. Lee went back to the work force when she was 50 and worked for a temp agency in the mailroom at Florida Power & Light Co for approximately 13 years. Lee retired when her husband retired from Pan-Am and they enjoyed the benefits of traveling around the world with the airline. She and her husband moved to Davie in Broward County where she resided for the past nineteen years, ten of those years as a widow. She attended Saint David Catholic Church while living in Davie. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2003. Survivors include daughters Maryanne Moran (Brian) Joan Urspruch (Tom), Anita Graham (Jack) sons Ralph "Randy" (Cyndi), Mike (Nora) and Paul. Grandchildren include: Daniel, Kristine, Sherilyn, Jackie, Jason, Matthew, Jenna, Shannon, and Step Grandchildren: Mike, Tim, Jackylynn, Janyse, Nelson, Joe and fourteen great grandchildren along with two sisters Frances (Sal) & Mary (Jack) and deceased brother Joe (Amy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing on Fri 12/27/13 from 5-9 PM @ Fred Hunters Funeral Home; 2401 S. University Drive, Davie. Mass on Sat 12/28/13 @ 1:00PM at St. David Catholic Church; 3900 S. University Drive, Davie.
