Berniece Marie Ehlers

Berniece M. Ehlers, 93, of Wyoming, Iowa, died on Monday morning, December 30, 2013, at Stone Hill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. A public graveside service and burial celebrating Berniece's life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, January 2, 2014, from the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Berniece Marie Hansen was born on August 12, 1920 in Oxford Junction, Iowa, to Joachim and Marie Hansen. She was a 1939 graduate of Oxford Junction High School. She married Emil Ehlers on April 24, 1940 in Andrew, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1990. Berniece was a homemaker and had worked in the housekeeping department at the nursing home in Onslow for several years. She had also done various jobs for friends and neighbors. Berniece enjoyed horses, flowers, gardening, spending time with family and taking care of others.
