Jane A. Pelkey

Jane Anna Pelkey (nee Jones) Jane Anna Pelkey, 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 1, 2014. Jane was born February 28, 1934 the last of seven children, daughter of the late Ray and Anna (Timm) Jones. She graduated from West High School in Green Bay. Jane held many jobs throughout her lifetime, her favorite being the original ShopKo store in Green Bay, where she was one of the first cashiers. She also taught Sunday school and worked many years with Green Bay Food, now known as Bay Valley Foods, packing pickles in the factory and making jokes with her friends. Jane married Louis A. Pelkey in May of 1955. Together they enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time at their cabin in Pembine. Louie preceded her in death on November 22, 2011. Surviving Jane are her son and daughter-in-law, Maurice and Cindy (Seidel) Pelkey and their children Sarah (Pelkey) and Kelly Broeren, and Ryan and Mandy (McDonald) Pelkey. She is further survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Cole and Ashlyn Broeren and Olivia, Luke, and Landen Pelkey. Visitation for Jane will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 9:30 until the hour of service at 10:30 at Lyndahl Funeral Home with the Rev. Cheryl Weaver officiating. Jane will be laid to rest at Fort Howard Memorial Park. Jane's family would like to thank the entire staff of Woodside Nursing Home, especially the nurses in the Mulberry Meadows wing; there are too many to list!
