wo children, Roger Laverne and Sharlene Kay. The family moved to live in Malvern in 1954. Iva was a member of the Malvern United Methodist Church and was very active with the UMC Women's, serving as president locally and held offices at the district and state levels. Iva taught Sunday School for many years and was the coordinator for Bible School. She had a great love for music, serving as choir director for the church. Iva was one of the founders of the area Baroque Oratorio Choir. She was active in the local area theatrical productions of "Mary Poppins", "Rags to Riches", "Music Man", to name just a few. Iva and Kenneth were active with Scouts, 4-H, Band Parents, and attended their children and grandkids' many school activities. Iva and Kenneth helped promote "their love of small town life" with Malvern Area Betterment Association. Iva was active with Iowa Tourism. They also found time to travel throughout the States and loved camping with family and friends. Iva was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Her pride and joy were her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In May 2011, Kenneth and Iva moved to Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Kenneth passed away there on January 16, 2012. Iva passed away on January 4, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Elkhorn in Elkhorn, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 2 months, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Kenneth; brothers, Lester Jackson, Homer Jackson, Elmer Jackson, Eugene Jackson and wife Elsie, and Albert Jackson, Jr and wife Jean; brother-in-law Carl Scott and wife Ruth; and sisters-in-law, Thelma Hatfield and husband Art, and Irene Parker and husband Joe. Iva is survived by her son Roger Scott and wife Iris of Urbandale, IA; daughter Sharlene Grindle and husband Rod of Hastings; grandchildren, Shane Scott and wife Tricia and their son Bo Dean of Adel, IA, Cory Scott of Des Moines, IA, Stacey Tams and husband Ben and their son Jace, of Omaha, NE, Keri Thomsen and husband Travis and their children, Colton, Carson, and Mia of Oakland, NE, and Lane Grindle and wife Ali and their daughters, Josie and Payton of Lincoln, NE; sisters-in-law, Una Mae Jackson of Chillicothe, MO and Jean Jackson of Glenwood, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
