SHEFFIELD, Illinois--Dorothy Marie Whisler, 85, of Sheffield, Illinois, died on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Colonial Hall, Princeton, Illinois
Inurnment will be at a later date, in Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield, Illinois. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Dorothy was born April 22, 1928, in Wyanet, Illinois, to Everett and Ida Etta Benningfield Stanfield. She married Woodrow W. Whisler on September 5, 1946, in Muscatine, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002.
She was a graduate of Muscatine High School. She retired from Champion Pneumatic, Princeton. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Sheffield.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Taplin of Sheffield, Illinois; four grandchildren, Chad Hopper of Ottawa, Illinois, Michele Mongan and husband, Marc, of Princeton, Illinois, Kelly Hunt and husband, Chad, of Davenport, and Matthew Whisler of Bureau, Illinois; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Steele, Caylla Townsley, Khora Townsley, Kody Mongan, Kelsea Mongan and Braeden Hunt; a sister, Mildred Rury and husband, Jay, of Sheffield, Illinois; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Whisler of Kewan...[more]
