Floyd E. "Kat" Byrd, age 74, of Middletown, Ohio, died Tuesday January 28, 2014 at Hospice of Butler-Warren Counties. He was born in Wellington, Kentucky on June 29, 1939 to Albert and Lena (Murray) Byrd. Floyd served his country in the U. S. Navy and was an avid outdoorsman. He was employed with Armco Steel for 30 years, was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church and sung in the choir for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Byrd, mother, Lena Byrd, daughter, Cynthia Byrd Bottorff, brother, Albert "Charlie" Byrd Jr., brother, Richard Byrd, brother, Alan Victor Byrd, sister, Virgina "Jenny" Cox. Floyd is survived by his wife of 52 years Nancy (Rickard) Byrd; 3 daughters Lisa Byrd, Deborah (Kevin) Combs, Jennifer (Terry) Green; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Jean Bausman, Patsy Furrow, Geraldine Dishun; 2 brothers Jimmy Byrd, Roger Byrd; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 10:00 am Monday February 3, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Homes 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with Dr. Max Fernandez officiating.
