Lois Marie Craig

Lois Marie Craig of Fort Dodge, IA, formerly of Mitchellville, IA passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. She was born to Charles and Mary Craig in Mitchellville on Jan. 23, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lora Esther Sutton and Elsie Webb, and brothers Raymond C. and Oran W. Craig and by nephews Charles Webb & Gerald Sutton & niece Linda Craig. She is survived by nieces Betty DeGraff, Catherine Reynolds, Mary G Washburn and Sara E. Sutton; and by nephews Tom and Wm. C. Craig. Lois taught high school English and History in Iowa and Michigan. From 1966 to 1985 she taught English at Iowa Central Community College. She was a member of Webster & Iowa Co. Genealogy & National Genealogy Societies. She was active the Iowa Historical Society & the Iowa Local Historical & Museum Associations, having served on the Board of Directors of the latter. Funeral services will be held at the First Nazarene Church in Ft. Dodge on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. preceded by visitation & brunch from 9-11 a.m. at the church.
