Carolyn L. Dodson

Carolyn Ragar Dodson, 79, of Keokuk, Iowa, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at River Hills Village in Keokuk. She was born on July 7, 1934, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of John H. and Mildred Peterson McKay. She married Clarence Norman Ragar on April 2, 1950 he preceded her in death on January 22, 1984. She married Norman G. Dodson on January 5, 1985. He survives. Carolyn lived most of her life in Keokuk. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a sponsor of American Field Service. She was a member of Keokuk Garden Club, Womens Bowling League and Keokuk Sports Boosters. Carolyn had been a member of Rainbow for Girls and Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of the Full Gospel Organization and Torrence School P.T.A. , fifteen grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and eighteen step grandchildren, one sister Kathryn (George) Kiser Branson of Keokuk, IA and one brothers, S. Thomas (Sharon) McKay of Keokuk, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Clarence Ragar; one son, David; two grandsons, Brian Ragar and Isaac Smalley and her brother John McKay. Memorials may be made to donor's choice. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 7, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Pastor Missy Brown and Jim Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M., on Friday, February 7, 2014, with the family meeting friends during that time at Trinity United Methodist Church.
