In Memory of a Colorful Life Helen Ratas, cherished wife, sister, mother, and grandmother passed away February 28 at 81 years of age. Born to Joan and Tom Pulos on July 21, 1932, she had a happy childhood growing up in Milwaukee. She met the love of her life, Tom Ratas, in 1953, and they wed in 1956. They had two children, Greg and Dean, and she became the backbone of the family, with the strength of character to work through rough times with optimism and unconditional love. She is remembered for her kind and positive disposition, love of music and dance, enjoyment of time with friends and family, and incomparable style and grace. She loved long walks, competitive tennis matches, and a good shopping excursion. She was vivacious, had a flair for conversation, and loved to laugh. Helen is survived by her husband Tom of New Berlin, brother Ken (Niovi) Pulos of New Berlin, son Dean (Susan) Ratas of Brookfield, son Greg (Anna) Ratas of Elm Grove, former daughter-in-law Renee Nimmer of Milwaukee, grandchildren Thomas, Beth, Lorice, Nicholas, Nick (Maltezos), Alexander, and Michael.
