Michael D. "Mike" Stevens, 47, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from Pearson Hall in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 P.M. on Monday, March 17, 2014, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation rites will be accorded. Michael Dean Stevens was born on May 5, 1966 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Larry and Peg (Clausen) Stevens. He grew up in Maquoketa and was a 1984 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School where he was active in athletics. He excelled in wrestling where he was a state qualifier and in football where he was a lineman on the football team. He married Kay Steagall on January 10, 1990 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Following high school Mike went to the Oklahoma School of Horseshoeing. He then continued his life's passion by owning and operating Steven's Equine Services, LLC and Steven's Custom Leather Shop.
