Susan Kay Allen

Susan Kay Allen, age 69, of Ashwaubenon has passed on Sunday, March 16, 2014 to live in Heaven. She now is looking forward to connecting with her family and friends with love and support from there as she received their loving support to assist her living with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease. Sue was born and raised in Escanaba, Michigan and graduated from Holy Name High School in 1962. After graduation, Sue was awarded a Business Training School Session in Marquette, Michigan. She returned to Escanaba to work for the US Government and later moved to Milwaukee to work for an insurance company. Sue returned to Escanaba to attend Bay de Noc Community College and graduated in 1968 when she married Jim Allen at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Escanaba on June 22. Sue worked at Bay de Noc Community College for a few years and moved to Green Bay in 1973. Once their children were in middle school, Sue worked for Schneider National, Schneider Communications and Norlight Telecommunications as office manager, retiring in 2008. h every goal put before her. Goals included organization, designing and cleaning our home. Knowing that her body would not survive ALS, Sue devoted a tremendous amount of time and effort to going through everything within our home including creating individual binders for each of her two children which contained memory items received from their childhood thru college with pictures and newspaper articles, etc. Sue was blessed with several unique talents which included sewing her own wedding dress and all four bridesmaid's dresses. She enjoyed writing and photography where she loved devoting time to recording family and friends special events with photos. She had an unbelievable talent for coming up with unique ideas to help decorate events that celebrated special occasions for family, friends and the German American Society. Sue was involved with the GAPP during her children's high school German study. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, Ashwaubenon Jaguar Backers President for four years along with being a member for many additional years. Sue was very happy to assist the San Luis Nursing Home residents by providing Eucharistic Ministry from Nativity Parish for many years. Sue is survived by a very loving supportive husband of 45 years, Jim; her son, Steven (Kristin) Allen; daughter, Julie (Rob) Del Bianco and five special grandchildren, Alex and Cameron Lesinski, Lukas and Bryce Allen and Sophia Del Bianco. Known as "Oma" to her special grandchildren, Sue truly enjoyed all the time spent with them. She is further survived by her mom, Rita Dubord; brothers, Gary (Shirley) and Dennis (Diane) Dubord; sister, Jean (Randy) Shaum as well as nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her father, Clifford (Kayo) Dubord; sister, Kathy Dubord; maternal grandparents, Bennett and Yvonne who lived in the same house where she grew up in Escanaba, Michigan and her husband's parents, Hubert and Alice Allen; sisters, Dolores (Russell) Lee and Audrey (Bill) Kress. We and Sue would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our family and friends for all the love and support provided throughout her journey living with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease. Oneida Street until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm with the Rev. James Hablewitz officiating.
