Bruce K. Rhubee was born on October 20, 1955 in Norfolk Fakenham, England to Darrell and Anita (Oleson) Rhubee. He was baptized at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden and later confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Whittemore, Iowa. Bruce received his education in the Storden-Jeffers Public Schools; graduating from the Storden-Jeffers High School in the Class of 1973. On August 1, 1981, Bruce was united in marriage to Janice Duggen at the Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. This marriage was blessed with two children, Amber and Jed. Through the years, Bruce farmed, ran his own custom shelling business, was a custodian and bus driver for the Storden-Jeffers Public Schools and for the past twelve years, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Cottonwood County Highway Department. Bruce became suddenly ill on Monday evening and was taken to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Fall, South Dakota where he passed away on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014, at the age of 58 years. included his love for all seasons, including, fishing, football and hunting; being a passionate Vikings fan with every Sunday in the fall as Family Vikings Day; their yearly trip to Alf's cabin on Juergens Lake near Sauk Centre; and grilling, gardening, camping and most of all, being Papa. Bruce is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Jan Rhubee of rural Jeffers; two children, Amber (Nic) Danielson of Jackson; Jed (Anna) Rhubee of Jeffers; two grandchildren, Abigail Hannah and Jack Kenneth Rhubee; mother, Anita Rhubee of Jeffers; siblings, Dixie (Steve) Severson of Westbrook; Michael Rhubee of Minneapolis; Todd (Wendy) Rhubee of Windom; Kyle Rhubee of Jeffers; mother-in-law, Mavis Duggen of Westbrook; nieces and nephews, Ashley (Matt) Metz; Jake Severson; Brianna (Matt) Bernard; Pat and Preston Rhubee; and Justina and Errol Johnson. Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Darrell Rhubee; father-in-law, Bill Duggen; nephew, Jeremiah Johnson; grandparents, Kenneth and Charlotte Rhubee and Elmer and Alice Oleson.
