onfirmed, and a lifelong member. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1943 and until recently met with her classmates at monthly luncheons. Betty worked for H.J. Heinz in the Muscatine Warehouse as a Shipping Clerk and retired after 33 years of service. Betty loved her family and friends and was known as a kind, caring and happy person. She enjoyed camping at Pulpit Rock Campground in Decorah, Iowa and traveling with friends to Rio Hondo, Texas where she and Harold spent 18 winters. Her Christmas sugar cookies were legendary, she excelled at cake decorating, and she was an outstanding seamstress who designed and made her daughter's wedding dress. Betty also enjoyed making counted cross stitch artwork and ceramic pieces for her family. She found great joy in nature, caring for the birds, bunnies and squirrels that flocked to her yard. Betty will be deeply missed by her daughter, Judy K. Maxwell and husband, Douglas; and son, Jack E. Hall and wife, Tami, all of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Amanda Laske of Muscatine, Brandi Little and husband, Bryan Jr., of Fort Dix, New Jersey, Lisa Opfer and husband, Justin, of Urbandale, Lucas Hall and Angie Byrd of Muscatine, Natalie Maxwell-McDonald and husband, Gabe, of Muscatine; seven great-grandchildren who affectionately called her "GG": Madeline, Brendyn and Isabel Little; Mya and Slade Opfer; Corwin McDonald and Dallas Vasquez; and by her sister, Donna Neipert Martin. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Herman Gravert; her sister, Helen Lemkau; and her husband, Harold in 2004.
