otive parts salesperson at NAPA, and then at Mill's Auto Parts. John soon partnered with Robert Logel to open B&J Auto Parts. John never forgot the loyalty that the Muscatine community showed their business. John and Bob later continued to serve their customers by opening a new store, JB's Auto Parts, and another store in Wilton, Iowa. After selling the businesses, John semi-retired and became an Auto Salesperson at M&M Ford. After a few years, John became inspired to end his semi-retirement, and relocated to Cape Coral, Florida, to start an Auto-Lube franchise. John showed his zeal for life by attending car shows, fishing and golfing, racquetball, dining out, visiting family members, photography clubs, vacationing in Orlando and Sanibel, Florida, entertaining with friends, home improvement projects, rental property management, being a husband and father, attending church. Later in life he confided to his family and close friends that his only true regret in life was the selling of his 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible. A memorial service will be held this summer in the Muscatine area. Details will be announced in the near future. All surviving family members, friends, co-workers, and business associates are encouraged to attend and may arrive by any means they feel appropriate. But those who truly knew John are aware that he would prefer that you drive your car.
