Lloyd Louis Beckman

Mr. Lloyd Louis Beckman, 94, of Danville, died at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Great River Medical Center. Born September 20, 1919 near Burlington, he was the son of Alfred and Theresa Schnupper Beckman. On August 14, 1948 he married Dorothy Edith Gerling in Burlington. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2000. Mr. Beckman was an Army veteran of World War II stationed in Alaska. He was a farmer all his life. He loved to play cards, look at cattle and go to livestock auctions. Survivors include one son, Gary L. (Linda) Beckman of Danville; one grandson, Brock Beckman; two great grandsons, Dalton and Ryan Beckman; one brother, Dale Beckman of Burlington and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Dwight Beckman. A memorial has been established for Danville Fire and Rescue. [more]
