Sally F. Janes

Sally F. Janes, 77, of Burlington, died 6:32 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born on June 12, 1936 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, she was the daughter of Dave and Frances R. (Beauford) Mitchell. She married Gene M. Janes on November 29, 1953 in Juarez, Mexico. He died November 21, 1999. She was a graduate of Carlsbad High School and Tucson School of Nursing through Tucson Medical Center. Mrs. Janes was an LPN for many years and also worked at Great River Medical Center Surgical and Supply Department until her retirement. She enjoyed camping, hiking, mushroom hunting and spending time with her family. She loved her computer and being on Facebook, talking to people across the world. Survivors include her six children; Randy G. Janes of West Burlington, Jane Mendoza of Safford, AZ, Nila D. Carle of Keithsburg, IL, Rickey D. Janes of Burlington, Brenda T. Patrick of Tucson, AZ and Mallory D. Oliver of Danville; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
