rance business and worked in that field until his retirement. In 1977 they moved to Forest City. Al lost his wonderful wife and business partner, Mildred, on Nov. 6th, 2002. In 2004, Al was united in marriage to Carol (Buns) Bilyeu. God took this wonderful woman to heaven on December 31st, 2009. Al knew the Lord as his personal Savior, loved to study his Bible and faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City. Al is survived by his daughter Carla Baker, of Forest City; step-daughter Ginger (Lynn) Dau, of Foxhome, MN; grandchildren Heather, Corwin, Rebekah, David, James, Leann, Carrie; ten great grandchildren; his sister Margreta Smidt, of Belmond, IA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; three brothers, John, Ralph and Kenneth; one sister Rose Karels; sister-in-laws Gladys Cordes, Eunice Cordes, Marie Cordes and Lila Heyer; brother-in-laws Esder Smidt, William Karels and Bernard Heyer; in addition to Carol's four brothers and two sisters.
