EDWARD F. LANSER Mr. Ed Lanser, of Webster Street in Port Washington, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Tuesday evening, April 29, 2014. He was 83 years old. Ed was born on October 25, 1930 in the Town of Port Washington, son of Henry and Catherine Fleisner Lanser. He attended local schools before joining the US Army and served during the Korean War. On July 2, 1955 Ed was united in marriage with Sandy Watry at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple settled in town and raised their nine children. Mr. Lanser was employed as a mechanic at the American Can Company in Milwaukee, retiring after 40 years of service in 1987. Ed was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington as well as belonging to St. Mary's Parish in Florence, WI. He was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 82. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family: camping trips with his children, trips up north to the cabin, deer camp, attending family sporting events and travelling with his wife after retirement. Ed is survived by the Love of His Life Sandy and their devoted children: Mike (Lori) Lanser of Sheboygan, Mark (Pat) Lanser of Janseville, John (Jan) Lanser of Port Washington, Judy (Wil) Exley of Mequon, Barb Lanser of Madison, Beth (Gregg) Ronczkowski of Altanta, GA, Mary Ann (Mark) Klingbeil of New Berlin, Karen Lanser of Grafton and Kevin (Jean Garcia) Lanser, also of Port Washington. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Andy, James, Crystal, Amy, Adam, Alex, Johnny, Robert, Abby, Olivia, Grace, Nick, Claire, Nicole, Kevin, Anna and Catherine and 7 great grandchildren. Further survivors include sisters-in-law Joan (the late Henry) Lanser of Hubertus, Paula Watry of Shorewood, Betty (the late Al) Lanser, Anna (the late Gregory) Lanser, Joann (the late Norbert) Buivid, Mary (Harry) Sauer, all of Port Washington, and brothers-in-law Bob Watry of Lake Geneva and Tom Watry of Denver, CO, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters: Anna, Theresa, Sister Agnes Claire, Irene, Marie, Lucile, Adeline, Eleanor, Allan, Wiliam, Henry, Gregory, Aelred "Al" and Leonard, as well as grandson Jackson Lanser. Funeral Mass will be held at 7PM on Friday, May 2, at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Tom Lijewski will preside. He will be laid to rest the following day with Military Honors at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Friday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Peter's of Alcantara or the Food Pantry. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
