CAROL SOTEROS MUSCATINE, Iowa - Carol J. Soteros, 72, of Muscatine, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Genesis Hospital - West Campus, Davenport. There will be no visitation or service. As per her wishes, her body has been cremated. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Carol was born on Oct. 4, 1941, in Davenport, the daughter of Leslie and Medrith Bird. She had lived in Muscatine for most of her life. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Van Blaricome of Muscatine, Tammy McGreer and husband, Brian, of Illinois City, Ill., Carrie Hocke and husband, Mark, of Atalissa, and Tracy Fry of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren and 2 grandsons, Matthew Fry and Trevin Hutt, who were very helpful to her; 8 great-grandchildren and her 3 closest great-grandsons, Alexavior, Travarian, and Issiah; and siblings, Judy Tucker and husband, Jerry, Dale Bird and wife, Lori, and Jerry Bird, all of Montpelier. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, "Bing", Edgar, and Marvin Bird and Jeanette Peck; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Bassett; and a granddaughter, Kaitre Mae Van Blaricome.[more]
