he AIF Southeast District and had received the Iowa Fair "Man of the Year" Award in Des Moines. Additionally, he had served as board member for the Clinton County Pork Producers for six years and as a board member of the First Trust and Savings Bank in Wheatland. He was first a member of the Lost Nation Masonic Lodge and later the Zealous Masonic Lodge #435 of Oxford Junction. Don loved his family and farming and had a longtime interest with his family in showing sheep. He also loved his church, St. John's Lutheran Church at Bliedorn, where he was an active member. Through the years he enjoyed playing slow pitch baseball and was an avid bowler. Those left to honor Don's memory include his wife Carol J. Cain of Delmar, IA; children, Douglas Cain of Delmar, IA, Cawyn Cain of DeWitt, IA, and Daryn Cain of Maquoketa, IA; 1 grandchild, Regina (Raymond) Dascher; 2 great-grandchildren, Skylee and Samuel; a sister, Linda (Dick) Block of Delmar, IA; a brother, Darrell (Lola) Cain of Elwood, IA; 19 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Robby. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Iowa Blue Ribbon Foundation or Camp Courageous of Iowa.
