David Joseph Paul Schiltz was born September 30, 1938, in Bancroft, son of Arnold and Ella (Vaske) Schiltz. He was baptized in St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church. He attended St. John's Catholic School playing baseball and basketball graduating in 1957. David was raised on the farm and at an early age, he worked for local farmers and worked with construction crews on the St. John's rectory. He worked for Reinsbach Painting, Ley Motor Company, Leisure Lanes, Kemna Motor Company, and Becker Kennedy Insurance Company where he retired from in 2010. David was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, a Boy Scout Leader, a member of the Lions Club, Jaycees, and a volunteer fireman for 20 years. He served on the North Kossuth Golf Course Board, the Bancroft Chamber of Commerce, the Bancroft Apartments, and he also served on several insurance company committees. On May 16, 1959, David married Dianne Mary McGee at St. John's Catholic Church. They had 7 children. He enjoyed participating and watching all sports and spending time with his family and friends. He is also survived by a sister, Lois (Delbert) Ferguson of Mesa, AZ; five brothers, Fran (Darlene) of Bancroft, Ed (Rose) of Bancroft, Don (Mary) of Estherville, Tony (Judy) of Algona, and Dick (JoAnn) of Overland Park, KS; a sister-in-law, Donna (Harvey) Boeckholt of Des Moines, a brother-in-law, Roger Wilhelmi of Bancroft; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Arnold Schiltz; a sister, Sister Eileen of the Good Shepard; his parents-in-law, Dan and Doris McGee; and two sisters-in-law Dolores and Bob Acela, and Denise Wilhelmi.
