Betty J. Ewing

McFarland- Betty Jean Ewing, age 66, died on Friday, May 23, 2014, from CorticoBasal Degeneration, a terminal brain disease. She was born in Baldwin on December 28, 1947, the daughter of John and Lucy (Baney) Scott. Betty graduated from Fennimore High School. She worked for many years at Hooper Corporation in Madison and Naviant Inc in Verona until her health declined and she had to retire in December 2010. Betty married Gary Ewing on December 27, 1997 in McFarland and together they celebrated 17 wonderful years of marriage. Betty was very kind, caring and compassionate and would go out of her way to make a person feel special. She always had something good and uplifting to say about everyone. Betty was a happy and joyful person with a tremendous amount of creativity and talent. She made a warm inviting home with her special personal touch in wall papering, painting, floral arrangements, and creative decorating. Betty loved to make birthday cakes for her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress, making everything from adult, child and doll clothing, to curtains. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 at McFarland Lutheran Church, 5529 Marsh Road, McFarland, with Rev. Kelli Schmit and Rev. Timothy Dean officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the services. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Friday at church. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., McFarland Lutheran Church, or to the charity of the donor's choice. We offer a heartfelt THANK YOU for the support from Pastors Tim and Kelli, family and friends for their prayers, visits and numerous acts of kindness and support. A sincere thank you to Betty's Agrace Hospice team of Nicole, Ann, Dr. Braus, Chaplain Timothy, and all the CNA's for their tender and compassionate care of Betty over the last two years. They were truly exceptional, and Betty cared very deeply for each one. Betty's passing leaves a huge void in the lives of family and friends. She will not be forgotten. We are comforted with the scripture from Revelation 21:3,4, "that God will wipe every tear from her eyes, death will be no more, mourning and crying and pain will be no more, these things have passed away."
