JERRY AMERINE MUSCATINE, Iowa - Jerry E. Amerine, 76, of Muscatine, died Monday, May 26, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Chaplain Vicki Pedersen of Lutheran Homes will officiate. Casket bearers will be Justin Amerine, Jeremy Amerine, Alex Amerine, Cameron Ferguson, Nicole Amerine, and Mary Amerine. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. A time of food and fellowship will follow the committal service in the private room at the Missipi Brewing Company. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Jerry was born on June 19, 1937, in Wilton, the son of Harry E. and Violet E. Fowler Amerine. He married Phyllis A. Witmer on February 23, 1963, in Wilton. He worked as a clerk at Scott's Outdoors and in many sales positions. He enjoyed reading, music, crossword puzzles, and camped for many years. He also treasured watching his grandkids play sports. Ferguson and husband, Tim, of Keokuk; seven grandchildren, Justin and wife, Tonya, Brandon, Jeremy, Alex, Mary, Nicole, and Cameron and wife Amy; and three brothers, Larry Amerine and wife, Kathlene, of Davenport, Keith Amerine and wife, Kathi, of LeClaire, and Steven Amerine and wife, Doris, of Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
