Glen was preceded in death by his parents, one stillborn son, his brother Don Behrens, one sister Lucille Blomgren, his first wife Fern and his second wife Deloris, one great granddaughter Anna Leah Borg. Glen Waldo Behrens, the son of Waldow and Albertina (Licht) Behrens, was born January 9, 1918 in Deer Creek Township, the oldest of four children. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Deer Creek Township and Clare High School. He joined the Iowa National Guard in January 1941. Following the outbreak of war he served overseas 38 months, in Ireland, England, North Africa, and Italy. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and a Bronze Star. After returning from the war, he worked for various employers, including fifteen years for National Gypsum and sixteen years for the City of Fort Dodge, retiring in 1980. On November 18, 1945 Glen married Fern Adele Trost. They lived in Deer Creek Township and for many years in Fort Dodge. Fern died on July 9, 1975. On September 4, 1976 he married Deloris (Schulze) Askelson. She died December 17, 2011. In October 2007 Glen and Deloris moved to Friendship Haven. He served on several boards at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed making many evangelism and elder calls. Later Glen and Deloris made many calls on elderly and widowed persons. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, singing, and socializing. His greatest loves were His Savior Christ Jesus and his family. Memorials may be designated for The Lutheran Hour, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Friendship Haven, or the donor's choice.
