Bill was born July 4, 1959, to Pete and Carol Markell in West Covina, California. He passed away on May 31, 2014, in Butner, North Carolina. Survivors include his mother Carol Markell of Argyle, three brothers, Robert (LouAnn) Markell of San Angelo, Texas, Dave Markell of Argyle, Iowa, and Richard (Shawn) Markell of Keokuk. Two sisters, Sissie Horton of Sedalia, Missouri, and Debbie Smith of Keokuk. Two sons, Jeremy (Kayla) Markell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Ian (Bridgette) Markell of Manteca, California. One daughter, Dusty (Chris) Oliver of Manteca, California, and nine grandchildren. Eight nieces, Tera Smith (Shawn Asbury) of Meredosia, Illinois, Kami Markell, Erica Smith-Zick (T.J. Zick), Sharisha (Paul) Rader and Kayla Markell (Phil Schwartz), all of Keokuk, Iowa. Kristina (Danny) White, and Klaire Markell of San Angelo, Texas. Shelda Markell (Mike) of Fort Madison, Iowa. ladelphia, Missouri and Pam and Shy Byrn of Kahoka, Missouri. Bill was an avid Outlaw Biker. He was a family man who loved life and living. His family meant the world to him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle rallies, working on cycles, and was a great mechanic. He had worked in Construction and Concrete with his brother Richard and also at Gregory Manufacturing. Bill is preceded in death by his father Pete Markell, brother Bob Markell and his grandparents, William and Irene Case. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Friday, June 6th, 2014, from 3 to 8 pm, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 pm, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 917 Blondeau Street. Directly following the visitation, Pastor Doug Horner will deliver words of comfort at 8 pm. Bill's family wishes to invite all family and friends to a Carry-In Dinner, Thursday, June 5th, 2014, at the Argyle Community Center in Argyle, Iowa, from 6 to 8 pm. They ask that you please bring a covered dish and any memories, photos or stories you would like to share. Tea, Lemonade and table service are furnished. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family of Bill Markell.
