Marion "Groucho" Retherford

Marion "Groucho" Retherford 85, of Franklin, Ohio died Friday June 6, 2014 at Southview Hospital. He was born in Owsley County, KY; the son of Charlie and Gertrude (Taylor) Retherford. Marion worked as a self-employed roofer for over 30 years and for 40 years at Miami Paper Co. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and he was an avid golfer and member of Franklin Golf Club. Groucho was a member of Logan Avenue Church of Christ, Middletown, Ohio and a frequent visitor at Crosspointe. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, granddaughter and one great-grandson. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen, 4 children, Larry (Fran) Retherford, Trish (Dave) Davis, Kimber (Casey) Hall and Shane Retherford, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves 3 brothers, Dallas, John and Danny Retherford, a step-mother, Susie Retherford, 2 step-brothers, Charles and Wayne Robbins and a step-sister, Betty, along with a host of relatives and friends.
