Herbert "Scrounge" Kidwell Jr., age 89, of Franklin, Ohio, died Thursday June 5, 2014 at Hospice of Butler-Warren Counties. He was born in Dreyfus, Kentucky on September 28, 1924 to Herbert and Laura (Marcum) Kidwell. Herb was employed with Monsanto in Miamisburg for 30+ years and was a Navy veteran who served in WWII as a boatswain's mate landing troops in Normandy on D-Day. Herb also owned and operated JR's Pub in Franklin for the last 10 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Green Kidwell, sister, Margaret Hensley brother, Billie Kidwell and brother-in-law George Baker. Herb is survived by his brother, Don (Virginia) Kidwell and sister, Mafra Baker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Chief. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Monday June 9, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Homes, 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 11:00 am, with military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
