xpand her life so she went to work for Home Health as an aide. She always seemed to enjoy the work. She also served as a Hospice volunteer for a period of time. In 1978, Clara's life changed with the passing of her husband, Howard Goering. Some of Clara's most prized moments included spending time with her siblings, playing string instruments, and singing gospel and Blue Grass music. In 1982, Clara met Bill White of Reed Springs, Missouri. They were married in August of 1982 in Missouri. Clara and Bill lived part time on Table Rock Lake in Missouri and part time in rural Lucas County. Many new friends were made in Missouri and through their travels. They spent much time traveling the U.S. with genealogy of their families. They loved to go to Blue Grass festivals and participate in all of the activities. Bill passed away in 1989 and Clara's life changed again. She enjoyed her neighborhood coffee club and their get-togethers. Clara, her son Gary, and her grandson Sean, all lived in the rural Lucas community within a half a mile of each other. She spent a lot of time with her family and attending family activities. Clara always new the boys were there when she needed some help or just needed company. In 2000, her great-grandson, Grant, was born and he also became a special part of her life with his many visits and added help to Grandma. Clara passed away at the Chariton Nursing & Rehab Center on June 6, 2014 at the age of 87. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands: Howard Goering and Bill White; her brothers: Lawrence Clark and Loral Clark; her sisters: Ardys Elmore and Avis Lancaster; and a very special friend D.J. Mallory. She will be greatly missed by her son Gary (Janice) Goering of Lucas; grandson Sean (Melissa) Goering of Lucas; great-grandson Grant of Lucas; two surviving sisters-in-law: Eleanor Clark of Lacona and Norma Goering of Indianola; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton with Dave Tyree officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Oakley. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Memorials may be given the Human Society of Lucas County.
