MUSCATINE, Iowa - Raymond G. Orr, 87, of Muscatine, died on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Trinity Rock Island Hospital, Rock Island, Illinois. Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Roger Carlisle will officiate the service. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ray was born on May 7, 1927 in Muscatine, the son of James E. and Barbara W. Spillman Orr. He married Shirley A. Hutt on August 8, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1993. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a teaching degree. He retired from Grain Processing after 26 years of service in Quality Assurance. He was an avid Cub fan and loving father who enjoyed cooking for family gatherings.
