Nerma Gollin

Middleton: Nerma Gollin passed away on June 16, 2014 at Attic Angel Place. She had been a resident since March 25, 2005. She was born June 10, 1915 in La Farge, WI to Garfield and Cora (Meyers) Nelson. She graduated from La Farge High School in 1932. She attended Vernon County Normal School and La Crosse Teachers College. She was a teacher for several years in the schools of Vernon County. The last five years in her home town La Farge, WI. She was united in marriage with Dr. Frank Gollin June 6, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their first years of married life were spent in La Farge where Dr. Gollin was a family physician. In July 1960, the couple moved to Middleton, Wisconsin. Dr. Gollin became a resident in Radiology Therapy at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI. Upon completion he remained at University Hospital, retiring in 1974. After leaving their home in Fox Bluff, Westport, WI, they moved in 1975 to Harbor Village Condominiums in Middleton, WI where Dr. Gollin passed away in 1986. She is survived by her sister, Jean Smith of Middleton, nephew Bradley Smith of Middleton, great nephew Chad Smith of Madison, a Gollin great niece Nancy Follett and her family of Madison, many other Gollin nieces and nephews in various cities. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Attic Angels for their care and a special thanks to Nerma's personal caregiver, Marina Lopez, for her exceptional care and devotion to Nerma.
