Harlan David Sparks TAFT, California -- Harlan David Sparks, 46, passed away on June 10, 2014, at his home in Taft, California. The memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Taft First Baptist Church, 220 North Street, Taft, California 93268. Memorials may be sent to Tina Yocum at 511 Alpine Avenue, Taft, CA 93268. David was born on January 12, 1968, in Maysville, Kentucky, and had a love for working with his hands, from carpentry to landscaping. He loved the Chicago Bears, watching old Western movies and anything to do with the outdoors. He especially loved his Boston terrier, Ozzy. David is survived by his mother and step-father, Tina and Phil Yocum of Taft, California; his children, John Saiz, Isaac and Jessica Sparks of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Derek Sparks of West Liberty, Iowa; his sisters, Christina Rickheim of Yale, Iowa, Amanda Wetzel of New Boston, Illinos, and Bonnie Shaw-Neeld of Eliza, Illinois, and his brother, Michael Shaw of Muscatine, Iowa.
