ka band music (lovingly referred to by Martin as "Bohunk" music), traveling across the country on bus trips with Dorothy and friends, playing cards with the boys at the V.F.W, taking care of their lawn & yard work, telling stories of the good times he had growing up, and most of all enjoying time with son Gary. Martin loved spending time with family and friends, especially with son Gary. In his later years wanting to be closer to Gary and Karen, they moved from Emmetsburg to Pella, IA in 2011. In true Martin style, he quickly met new friends and rarely missed his daily "coffee time" with them where he could catch up on the latest happenings. Surrounded by family, Martin passed away on July 4, 2014 at the Comfort House in Pella, Iowa at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Edward, Irvin, Maurice, Cecelia Dahlhauser and Jean Gepken. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and his son Gary (Karen) of Pella, IA; three sisters-in-law Ruth Nelson, Elsie Eischen and Ione Kenne; and many nieces and nephews.
