Annadeine Cleo Munger

Annadeine Cleo Munger, 97, of Fort Madison and formerly of West Burlington, Mt. Pleasant and Wever, died at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. Born June 25, 1912 in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Iva B. Whittaker Whaley. In December 1928 she married George Morgan James. They divorced in 1930. On November 25, 1937 she married Irwin Munger at the West Burlington United Methodist Church in West Burlington. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2000. Mrs. Munger was a Burlington High School graduate and attended Burlington Junior College. She worked for several years for Challen Bookkeeping Service in Mt. Pleasant and also worked in accounting for Sears Roebuck. She was a member of Spring Grove United Methodist Church, E.C. Blackmar Chapter 306 Order of Eastern Star, Grand Cross of Color -- Rainbow Girls, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Fort Madison and Denmark Senior Citizens and A.A.R.P. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States including Alaska, Canada and throughout Europe. Hartweg, Linda (Steve) Casady and Teresa (Mark) Gaydo; two grandsons, Bob (Jean) Chesnut III and Wayne (Deborah) Chesnut; ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband, her parents, granddaughter Brenda, and one brother preceded her in death. The graveside memorial funeral service and inurnment for Mrs. Munger will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27th, in Greenwood Cemetery, rural West Burlington. The Rev. Dean Moberg will officiate. A memorial has been established for Shriner's Children's Hospital. According to Mrs. Munger's wishes, her body has been cremated.
