Mr. Elmer Medinger, formerly of Random Lake, passed away Saturday evening, August 2nd 2014, at Woodland View Assisted Living in Fredonia, where he had been residing for the last five years. He was 93 years old. Elmer was born in the Town of Grafton on August 10, 1920, son of Jacob and Theresa Deppiesse Medinger. He attended local schools and graduated from Grant School before the family moved back to Random Lake area and began farming. Elmer farmed on the family farm until he retired in the 1980s. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, and had always enjoyed hunting, trapping and ice fishing. Elmer is survived by his brother Harvey (Margaret) Medinger, Sr., of Cedar Grove, a niece, 11 nephews, special friend Gloria Casper of Fredonia, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elsie (the late Norbert) Koch and sister Laverne (Robert Sr.) Shupe. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 8th at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Mary's Chapel, 230 Butler Street, Random Lake. Father Todd Budde will preside.
