Tom L. Halder

Tom Halder, 87, of Webster City, died Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Clair "Tom" Louis Halder, son of Frederick and Anna Grimm Halder, was born August 19, 1927 in Spencer. He attended Palo Alto County Schools by Ruthven. He married Lillian Utley in Spencer. To this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. Tom moved to Webster City in the late 1960s, where he owned and operated the Holiday Station, the Derby Station and Tom Halder's Mobil Service. On October 23, 1976, Tom married Mary Kathryn Lateer in Webster City. After his retirement in 1999, he was a part time assistant at Superwash. He was a resident of Southfield since October of 2005.
