Royce W. Lane LARAMIE, Wyoming -- Royce W. Lane, 76, of Laramie, died peacefully in the presence of his family on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital in Loveland, Colorado. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 1215 East Gibbon Street, Laramie, Wyoming 82072. Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, 2133 Rainbow Avenue, Laramie, Wyoming 82070. Memorials can be given to CaringBridge.org, The Kiwanis Club of Laramie, First United Methodist Church of Laramie, or the American Diabetic Association of America. Royce was born on June 8, 1938, at home in Muscatine, Iowa, to Raliegh Orville and Edna Fisher Lane. After graduating from Muscatine High School Royce spent four years in the navy before returning home to attend Muscatine Junior College and on to Iowa State University where he received a degree in electrical engineering in 1966. oming, in 1972 with their two children, Brian and Beth. Prior to moving to Laramie, Royce was employed by Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Royce worked for the University of Wyoming for over 30 years. He worked in the Physics Department as an electrical engineer for Atmospheric Science, the UW Research Support Group and later as the engineer in charge of the UW Electronic Shop. Royce enjoyed reading, wood working, stamp collecting, putting together puzzles and doing outdoor activities with his family. He was especially fond of the Snowy Mountain Range and the Vedauwoo area where they always took visiting family and friends. Royce loved playing cards and games as well. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Royce was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church and also a long time member of the Kiwanis Club of Laramie, serving as Secretary for many years and was the current Treasurer. Royce will mostly be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness and intelligence, along with his unique laugh that warmed other's hearts. Royce is survived by his wife, Carol Lane, son Brian Lane and wife, Alisa, of Milliken, Colorado; a daughter, Beth Morgan and husband, Craig, of Littleton, Colorado; six grandchildren, Thomas, Wesley, Daniel, and Annalisa Lane, and Lindsay and Joshua Morgan; two surviving siblings, Richard Lane of Eldridge, Iowa, and Joan Bharucha of West Windsor, New Jersey; and many extended family. He was preceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clinton and Jack; and an infant sister, Kathryn Kay.
