id was a rabid baseball fan (Dodgers), an avid salt water fisherman, and loved talking stocks with his sons Jeff and Ross. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, a great fishing buddy, and the best pappa his grandsons could ever ask for. He rarely missed a sporting event involving his grandsons, even when their respective teams were playing, in his words "miserably." Working out was his "other" religion, spending most Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's in the gym from 1988 until earlier this year. Preceded in death by his lovely wife, Beverly, David leaves behind his sons, Ross, Jeff, and Gregg, his grandsons, Zachary, Wesley, Benjamin, and Brandon, and his brother, Harry, his cousins and many friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills on Thursday, September 17, 2014 at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Jewish Home for the Aging (Balboa Buddy Program) (https://jha.org) or to the David Garfinkel Memorial Fund at Temple Ahavat Shalom, located at 18200 Rinaldi Place, Northridge California 91326.
