Hubert Fender "Mac" McLeod passed away at home in Pembroke Pines on Monday, September 15, 2014.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 3, 1922, to Willie Hubert McLeod and Mae Fender McLeod. He moved to Miami in 1952 to work with U.S. Plywood Corporation where he was office manager. In 1964, he entered the coin laundry business in North Miami, where he owned and operated Norma's Wash Mart for 20 years. He was president of the Coin Laundry Operators Association of Florida from 1983-1984. He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Norma Boote McLeod in 1972.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Jean Cole McLeod, sister Margie Seibert of Ocala, FL; sons Norman (Barbara); Gordon (Christy); Andrew; and daughter Florence (Steve) Abraira along with 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Harding Street Church of Christ in Hollywood, FL.
Viewing will be Thursday, September 18, between 9:00 am and 11:00 a.m., followed by Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St., Hollywood.
