Martha Ida Witthoft WASHINGTON, Iowa--Martha Ida Witthoft, 91, of Washington, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at the Halcyon House in Washington. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, Washington. Pastor Ryan Meader will officiate. Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the funeral home. Memorials have been established for the Central Park Community Center. Martha was born on September 13, 1923, in rural Washington County, the daughter of John H. and Martha Koehler Zieglowsky. She attended school in Washington County. Martha was united in marriage to Ralph C. Witthoft on June 1, 1947, in Washington. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Bethel Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her children, Gary Witthoft and wife, Peggy, Linda Cnossen and husband, Jim, Dennis Witthoft and wife, Sandy, Sharon Weber and husband, Butch; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Zieglowsky and wife, Donna; and a number of nieces and nephews.
