cialist. She loved animals, especially her dogs. Christy had a very deep faith that helped to keep her strong throughout her battle with cancer. Christy was diagnosed with stage IV endocervical cancer on April 1, 2014. This very aggressive form of cancer consumed her body in just six short months. Every day was a new challenge. Christy was a very strong person and fought hard to the end. Never once was there a complaint from that beautiful selfless person. Christy is dearly loved and never went through a single day without her husband or a family member by her side, as "Nobody Fights Alone" became her chosen slogan. Christy will be dearly missed and will always be an inspiration to all who loved and knew her. Rest in peace our beloved Christy. Christy is survived by her husband, Robert Tackitt, of Des Moines; her 17-month-old daughter, Vada, of Des Moines; a step-son, Tylen Tackitt, of Des Moines; her father, Arlo McKenzie and his spouse, Connie, of Chariton; her mother, Lyn Hook and her spouse, Bill, of Cambridge; her half sister, Nicole Keller, of Chariton; her step-brother, Joe Hook, of Des Moines; her step-sister, Erin Hook, of Chariton; her niece, Lorelai Hook, of Chariton; and her grandmothers: Irma (McKenzie) Hill and Barbara Peterson, both of Wisconsin.
