It is with profound regret that we announce the death of Vincent George Lubsey, MD, who died October 4, 2014 while on vacation in Costa Rica. Vin, as he was known by family and friends, was the son of Franklyn Lubsey, Sr. and Icilda Lubsey (nee Dunbar). He entered the world in Content, Manchester (Jamaica, West Indies) on July 11, 1943, to be greeted by his eldest brother Carl. He in turn was able to greet his other siblings Johnny, Norma, Margaret and Franklyn Jr. Franklyn Lubsey, Sr. was in the employ of the Jamaica Railway Corporation and due to the nature of his work, the family moved frequently throughout the island. Vin excelled athletically, specifically in Track and Football (Soccer) resulting in a lively youth while attending schools such as Saint Jago High School, Titchfield High School and, ultimately, Kingston College. Under the guidance of his mother and aunt, Mabel Lubsey Brown, he was expected to excel academically. ge of Medicine. While in Washington, DC, he surrounded himself with a small contingent of fellow Jamaicans, who like him, became successful in their areas of specialty. This group comprise some of his closest friends, who are more like family and who were present at his marriage to Bonnie Lubsey (nee Gray). This new Lubsey family expanded with the births of Vincent, Jr., Andrew and Erika. After completing his medical training, the family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Vin began an independent Family Medicine practice. This endeavor has grown into the Lubsey Medical Center, as we now know it. During the near forty years since he began practice, Vin has gone through many significant events regarding his family, health and practice. The latter part of those years were spent with his now ex-wife Deborah and stepsons, Kristopher and Kyle. Throughout his 71 years, he touched the lives of so many--family, friends, patients, and more often than not, strangers who never had the opportunity to know him. It is most certainly sad to have lost him so unexpectedly, but we look forward to celebrating him and his legacy. The family would like to offer friends and family the opportunity to pay their respects. We will have an extended visitation at the Krause Funeral Home located on 9000 West Capitol Drive on October 23, 2014, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. We would like to reserve the hours of 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for those individuals who are elderly, in nursing homes or those who may require more assistance. The remaining hours will be for anyone desiring to see him one last time. Memorial services will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive in Brookfield on Friday, October 24, 2014, at 11:00 AM, with a short viewing from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A contribution may be made, in lieu of flowers, to his high school alma maters. http://www.titchfieldhigh.com/ Click "donate" button. Lower left corner of web page.
