apitols, to the Madison Memorial Spartans, and ultimately playing as a reserve for his beloved Wisconsin Badgers in college. He continued to play as an adult on various men's leagues and "old man's hockey" (as he referred to it) and was a big fan of the NHL. Carl has been involved with a variety of entrepreneurial ventures throughout his life and was most recently employed by iHeartMEDIA as an Account Executive, where he enjoyed much success and formed many lasting friendships. Carl is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lynn (Wallman) Yde; son Donald; daughter Lola Marie; brothers, Richard Yde Jr. (Katie) of Madison, Mark Yde (Lisa) of Indiana, Paul Yde (Sarah Elder) of Maryland; sisters, Linda (Tom) Holmes of Madison and Helen (Greg) Brown of Marshfield WI; and many loving cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Richard Sr. and Lola Yde; his brother Jan "J.R."(Julie) Yde of South Dakota; and his nephew, Jorgen Yde of South Dakota, (who was the inspiration for Carl's many fundraising efforts on behalf of Leukemia and childhood cancer). A Celebration of Carl's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison with Reverend Randy Hunter to officiate. A reception will follow.
