Jean Rowe Spencer, prominent resident of Hollywood, Florida since 1939 passed away on Oct. 19, 2014. Jean was born May 5, 1914 in Rochester, New York. She attended school in London, England and graduated from Geneva State College of Education in NY. While on holiday with her mother in Ft. Myers she met Sherwood Spencer whom she married Dec. 15, 1939. Sherwood was a respected attorney in Hollywood for over 50 years. Jean was involved in many civic organizations, including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Broward County, and she was Past President of Hollywood Rotary Anns. She and Sherwood were involved in the early development of Nova University and Memorial Hospital. They also enjoyed many years of association with the Florida Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She loved playing bridge with her friends and scrabble with Martha.
