Thomas E. Grow, age 86, a 7 year resident of Spring House Estates, Lower Gwynedd, PA, and formerly of Warrington, PA died Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Abington Memorial Hospital. Born in Shamokin, PA, Mr. Grow was the son of the late Clarence and Lois (nee Eckman) Grow. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Grow, Jr. in 2008. Mr. Grow served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Constabulary from 1945 to 1949. Upon leaving the military in 1949 Mr. Grow enrolled at Villanova University under the GI bill and graduated with the Class of 1953. Mr. Grow was a Sales Manager employed by the Callahan Chemical Company for 39 years until his full retirement in 1997. Mr. Grow was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen, a 20 year member of Cedarbrook Country Club, and a past president of the Philadelphia Chemical Club. Mr. Grow was a lifelong golfer and voracious reader, especially of both fiction and nonfiction historical books. usband David, of Lower Gwynedd. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Robert, Erica (Matt), Tara, David, Kyle, and Sean. Mr. Grow's passion and joy in life was his family. A devoted husband, father and grandfather he was in his element when surrounded his family. He was able to have a special and endearing relationship with each member of his family making them feel as if they were the most important person in his life. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Alphonsus Church, 1565 Temple Drive, Maple Glen. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
