Barbara Oceana Wallick

Barbara O. Wallick, 93, formerly of Mechanicsville, died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living Center, Tipton. There will be no services at this time; a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Barbara was born August 7, 1921 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Everett L. and Gladys E. Miller Ferguson. She was a graduate of Mechanicsville High School as well as Coe College, Cedar Rapids, where she earned her B.A. Degree. She married Orin "Jr" Wallick on March 15, 1944 on the Ferguson farm in Mechanicsville. Barbara was a teacher and a homemaker. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Chris (Glen) Weber of Mechanicsville, Iowa, Claudia Wallick of West Branch, Iowa, Elisa Wallick of Iowa City, Iowa; son, Kermit (Kay) Wallick of Mechanicsville, Iowa; grandchildren, Anthony Dalrymple, Heather Haffner, Donald Cosgrove, David Cosgrove, Jennifer Dixon and Nicole Mack; great grandchildren, Summer Cosgrove, Kiowa Cosgrove, Dakota Hoffman and Kaylee Terlisner; sister-in-law, Cleo Ferguson of Tipton, Iowa; and brother, David (Dorothy) Ferguson of Mechanicsville, Iowa.
