ALBERTA TOUSSAINT MUSCATINE, Iowa - Alberta Toussaint, 109, of Muscatine, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, Wisconsin. Graveside Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Greenwood Cemetery. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Reverend Cindy Axtell of Musserville United Methodist Church will officiate. Alberta was born on January 20, 1905, in Muscatine, the daughter of Edgar Poe and Alice Berry Latham. She married Herbert A. Toussaint on August 27, 1923, in Muscatine. Alberta was genuine, loving, light-hearted and always positive. She lived a modest life, remaining grateful through difficult times and keeping God close to her heart. She touched the lives of most who met her and will be remembered for her artistry in petit point, knitting, crocheting and dried flower framing. She shared her love of cooking and music with so many generations of loved ones, including her great great grandchildren. She enjoyed a traditional chicken dance during each birthday celebration well into her 100's and never passed up a scoop of ice cream with fresh raspberries. She is survived by a son, Robert Toussaint (Jean), grandchildren; Susan and Ann Toussaint, Barbara (Mike) Fedor , Nancy (Bill) Carpenter, Kitty (Terry) Olsen, David (Le) Toussaint, six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Toussaint, two sons, Herbert C. Toussaint and James Toussaint and one great grandchild.
