Papa Smith age 65 of Forest Lake, after a four year battle with MDS died on November 15, 2014. Bob passed away peacefully at his home Saturday surrounding by those he loved. Bob proudly served his country in the Untied States Army during Vietnam. His true joy was caring for his family. He shared the love of MMA with his children. His grandchildren were the love of his life and made him so happy. Preceded in death by his father, Wendell; brothers, Denny and Craig; and his father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Ruby Tabor. Survived by wife, Mary; children, Shanette Smith, Brandon Smith, and Janelle (Paul) Rider; grandchildren, Jacob Kendrick, Aviana Rider and Annabelle Rider; mother, Theresa Smith; siblings, Gary (Nancy) Smith, Pam (Chris) Nordling, and Trisha (Shawn) Chapman; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held 6:30 PM Thurs., Nov. 20th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake with a visitation beginning at 4 PM. Interment with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. [more]
